SEO対策として、Google Search ConsoleにXML sitemapは必須です。
以前はWordpressコアにXML sitemapを作る機能がありませんでした（現在ではWordpressコアにXML sitemapを作る機能が取り込まれた）。XML sitemapを作るためにプラグインを使っている人も多かったと思います。
XML sitemapのプラグインの定番と言えば、Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPressです。以前からこのプラグインを使っている人は、そのままそのまま利用している人も多いと思います。
Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPressが4.1.1を最後に公開停止になったので、新規にインストールすることができなくなりました。
公開停止になった理由は、セキュリティ関連の問題らしいのですが、最終公開版や開発版がどこでダウンロードできるのか調べました。

WordPressのプラグインの公式ページには以下の記載があり、2022年4月6日からダウンロードができなくなっています。

サポートフォーラムを見ると、大騒ぎしている人はあまりいませんが、XSS経由なのでしょうか？バックドアを仕掛けられたという人もチラホラいます。
世の中的には、XSSの問題は4.0.8/4.0.9にあることが知られていて、4.1.0で解決しているという状況です。
それが、4.1.1で再度発生したのでしょうか。

githubに本人のプロジェクトがあります。4.1.2として修正されたものがありますが、修正内容はPHPのサニタイズの問題の修正のようです。

4.1.1はXSSの問題で4.1.2に更新される予定なので、4.1.1はキケンじゃない？と思う方は、審査中の最新版4.1.2もダウンロードできます。

5/25日未明 Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress 4.1.3が再公開される
4.1.2をスキップして4.1.3が公開されたようです。一安心ですね。
まとめ
google-sitemap-generatorは公開停止中ですが、ダウンロードして使うことはできます。4.1.2は既に審査中で、時間がかかるかもしれませんがこのまま公開されないことは無いと思います。
新規にインストールしたい方は、ダウンロードURLからダウンロードしてプラグインをアップロードすれば使うこともできます。
WordPress 5.5 に標準実装されたサイトマップ生成機能は最初から有効になっているので、サーチコンソールにXML sitemapを指定すれば無理にプラグインを使わなくても問題ありません。
XMLサイトマップの名前が変わっている点だけ注意が必要です。
